Leach Highway and Norma Road Intersection Upgrade
The busy intersection of Leach Highway and Norma Road, in the City of Melville, is being upgraded to improve traffic flow and safety.
Upgrade works will be funded by the State Government's Black Spot Program.

Upgrade works commenced on 29 January. As this intersection is used by up to 5,000 vehicles per hour during the day, including freight vehicles, most of the work is being undertaken between 6pm and 6am to ensure it is completed as quickly as possible and minimise traffic disruption.
Intermittent lane closures will be in place on all approaches, and speed reduced to 40 km/h.
Every effort will be made to minimise noise for residents living nearby.
Scope of works
- Installation of traffic signals with highly visible mast arms on Leach Highway
- A controlled right-turn from Leach Highway westbound into Norma Road
- Pedestrian facilities upgraded including a new controlled crossing on Leach Highway and two zebra crossings on Norma Road
